About me

Music has taken me across many places, each shaping my artistry and deepening my understanding of the world.

It all began in Brabant, the Netherlands, where I was surrounded by nature’s sounds and waves … a creatively and musically infused childhood brought me to fantastic mentors, inspiring concerts and the necessary competitions. But I finally grew up in Berlin:

Berlin taught me the beginnings of music, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and the thrill of hearing the Berlin Philharmonic every weekend. It was where I immersed myself in Brahms’ chamber music and orchestral traditions.

Leipzig was where I studied Bach, absorbing the weight of history, while also diving into the intricacies of contemporary music—from Boulez to Penderecki.

Paris introduced me to Art and Opera, the elegance of French phrasing, and the delicate interplay between sound and movement.

Amsterdam gave me a deep connection to the Dutch chamber and orchestral scene, where tradition meets innovation.

Now, in New York, I continue to explore, bridging my European roots with new inspirations, expanding my work as a performer and mentor, and embracing the ever-evolving artistic landscape.

Living in so many places has made me deeply aware of cultural differences, communication bridges, and the unspoken language of music. It has shaped me into a flexible, world-conscious musician, sensitive to people’s differences and the ways music can bring us together beyond words.
